haitilibre.com - May 18, 2013

As part of the fight against the high cost of living, after an initial delivery of rice in March 2013, Michaël Lecorps, Director General of the Bureau of Monetization of Development Aid Programs (BMPAD), announced that a new shipment of 18,000 tonnes of rice (10/10) imported from Vietnam, is expected to arrive in Haiti between 27 and 29 May. "Further deliveries are to follow in the coming months," said the Director Lecorps, pending the performance and competitiveness of the Haitian rice industry is able to take over.

To have a policy of price stabilization, it is necessary to have a volume of quantity, an affordable price and a good product.
